Researching opportunities for licensing/selling music
Since work and other concerns (like that '3 kids' thing) is keeping music-making time at a minimum, I've been looking for ways to get what music I have out there. Since I'll be ditching Pump Audio, for licensing I'm trying
- www.yookamusic.com (first track accepted)
- www.magnatune.com (waiting to hear if they like the first track)
- www.musicsupervisor.com (4 wavs uploaded & agreements faxed in, should be in their system pending any issues with the faxes)
All of these are non-exclusive agreements.
I also have a bunch of other tracks, not as good for licensing but tracks that people may like. For these, I'm going to try several avenues and see which works the best for me:
- www.bandcamp.com (so simple & easy)
- www.reverbnation.com (maybe a bit too comprehensive, but I like being searchable on a site; being on iTunes might be good too)
- www.jamendo.com (again, being part of a searchable site is good)
I'll give each of those a fair shake and see how it goes. For licensing, I'd prefer a company that promotes on my behalf, at least until I have more time to do it myself. For sales, I want something easy to use, with a proper email list (that's Bandcamp or Reverbnation right there) and that results in sales. Hopefully
